Elephant Robotics mechArm 270 M5Stack: Compact 6-Axis Robotic Arm is the world's most compact 6-axis collaborative robotic arm, specifically designed for makers, creators, universities, and research environments.
Featuring a classical centrosymmetric industrial structure, this desktop robot offers maximum flexibility and a fast learning experience in robotics, kinematics, and automation.
The main control unit is based on the M5Stack Basic ecosystem (ESP32), being equipped with a 2-inch color IPS screen and programmable buttons.
At the end of the arm (end-effector), the ATOM module integrates a 5x5 RGB LED matrix and dedicated interfaces for sensors and gripping devices (grippers/suction pumps).
The arm is extremely versatile on the programming side: it allows drag teaching, block-by-block visual programming via myBlockly / UIFlow, up to advanced development using Python, C++, C#, JavaScript, Arduino, and ROS/ MoveIt robotic simulation packages.
Key advantages and technical performance mechArm 270 M5
Compact and robust industrial design: Centrosymmetric architecture with 6 degrees of freedom (6-DOF), a net weight of 1 kg and a nominal payload of 250 g.
Dual-screen ecosystem and M5Stack technology: Intuitive control interface based on the base IPS screen and the end-effector LED matrix.
High-precision control: Use of servomotors equipped with high-precision magnetic encoders, ensuring a repositioning accuracy of ±0.5 mm.
Extensive software compatibility: Native support for the myStudio application for firmware updating, dedicated myBlockly libraries for beginners, and advanced SDKs for Python, C++, Arduino, and ROS.
Hardware modularity and LEGO compatibility: The base and end-flange structure allows integration with elements from the LEGO ecosystem and standard M4 clamping systems.
Application fields and use cases
STEM and university education: Use as a didactic support within robotics laboratories for the study of forward and inverse kinematics, as well as embedded systems programming.
Research and development (R&D): Rapid prototyping and algorithm testing for trajectory planning in ROS/MoveIt simulation environments.
Artificial vision systems (AI): Implementation in optical object and shape recognition applications, visual inspection, and geometric calibration in combination with dedicated vision kits.
Pick & Place and Industry 4.0 applications: Automated sorting and manipulation of small parts using adaptive effectors or vacuum pneumatic systems.
